- Who is eligible to open an account with OptionOne Lab?
OptionOne Lab services are available to all licensed healthcare practitioners within appropriate scope of practice.
- How do I set up an account with OptionOne Lab?
Register an account with OptionOne Lab using our account setup form. Once approved you will have access to all of our services and software.
- How does the pricing of OptionOne Lab compare to other lab companies?
Our partnership with Access Medical Lab gives our customers the most competitive nationwide pricing on all laboratory tests.
- Where are draw sites located?
OptionOne Lab’s current contract with Access Medical Lab provides access to their entire nationwide network of draw centers. Any of the Access Medical Lab draw centers, using the DEX electronic system, are available for our customers use. Due to our electronic system, paper requisitions are not necessary.
- I see that there are panels already put together. Am I limited to ordering those panels, or can I customize my own orders?
OptionOne Lab has created clinically relevant panels to simplify the ordering process. However, all panels are fully customizable and practitioners may design their own individual markers or panels for regular ordering. Our ordering software allows for immediate access and pricing to thousands of Access Medical Lab.
- How do I order laboratory panels and/or markers?
Our specialized software allows practitioners to place, track and receive orders electronically. All results are instantly available online using the bidirectional software interface of OptionOne Lab and Access Medical Lab.
- If I have a question or issue with this site, who can I contact?
- Who is billed and pays for the tests ordered with OptionOne Lab?
OptionOne Lab allows billing to be set up with charges applied to either the patient or doctor at the account holder’s convenience.
- Do I have to make an appointment with the draw center?
Generally Access Medical Lab draw centers do not require an appointment for their services. However, we advise to contact the draw center for more information about their availability and hours of operation.
- Are these blood tests done while fasting?
Fasting requirements are dependent upon the test being ordered.
- Does OptionOne Lab have contracted accounts with other laboratory draw sites in addition to Access Medical Lab, such as LabCorp, PAL, Enzo, etc.?
Currently OptionOne Lab is solely contracted with Access Medical Lab. Other contracts are in the process of negotiation and will be available when confirmed.
- After patients have their blood drawn, how will they be able to get the results?
Results become available for download and review immediately once completed and uploaded to our software. From there, the physician has access to all results and will be able to provide their patient with either an electronic copy or a printed copy of results.
- How long does it take for me to get patients' results?
Test results can be immediately downloaded once they are received from Access Medical Lab. The time it takes to complete the testing, receive the samples, and perform the lab services is dependent on the type of test ordered.
- What information do I need to get from my patients before I can order their blood work?
We require the standard laboratory identifiers, such as the patient’s name, age, sex, address, and phone number. We also recommend the patient’s e-mail addresses are recommended incase client contact is necessary.
- How do you ensure patient privacy?

- How do you ensure the confidentiality of lab results?
OptionOne Lab is fully compliant with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and its privacy rules issued by HHS. Except where it is required by law, test results can only be disclosed to the persons or entities that the patient authorizes in a written format.
